Today two Kogakuin High School students, Go Gakuhari (1-3) and Hiroto Osakabe (1-7) held a Skype meeting with students from the Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Chemistry and Biology in Shymkent, Kazakhstan (NIS) as a part of our “Invention Exchange” project.
The rules of the project required students to make an invention using a limited set of parts: batteries, wires, switches, and motors. Go and HIroto learned to design an electrical circuit, solder it, and test various mechanical designs and materials in order to complete their project. In the end, they made an electrical brush using a PVC pipe case as a handle and a spinning brush head.
In the meeting, Go and HIroto met students from NIS school. Students showed each other their inventions, asked each other questions, and learned a little about each other’s culture and creative designs.
Another collaborative project with NIS students is taking place in some International English classes, with students researching Kazakhstan culture and exchanging video presentations and feedback between schools.
本日（５月29日（火））高校１年の覚張君と小坂部君が、カザフスタンのシムエストにあるナザルバエフ科学高校の生徒と、「発明プロジェクト」の情報交換をスカイプで行いました。
このプロジェクトではバッテリーやワイヤー、スイッチ、モーターといった限られたパーツを使って発明を行います。覚張君と小坂部君は電子回路の設計方法を学び、はんだ付けを行い、設計や材料をいろいろと試しながら作品を完成させました。二人が作ったのは電気ブラシ。ハンドル部分にはポリ塩化ビニルのパイプを使い、回転ブラシヘッドを装着させました。
スカイプ会議ではそれぞれが制作した発明作品の紹介や質問を行い、さらには互いの国の文化やクリエイティブデザインについても学びあいました。
ナザルバエフ高校の皆さんとはインターナショナルコースの英語の授業でもコラボ企画を行い、カザフスタンの文化について調査し、ビデオによるプレゼンテーションなどを通じて交流を行っていきます。
