オーストラリアのニューサウスウェールズ州東海岸コフズハーバーにあるBishop Druitt Collegeの生徒と本校生徒が一緒にMinecraftをしました。本校生徒は、期末試験後の自宅学習日、先方の生徒は、夏休み直前の登校日でした。
生徒たちはまずウェブ会議で、何をするか、どうするか、話し合い、オンライン上のマインクラフトワールドに集まりました。
参加生徒たちの感想です。
海外の学生と一緒に会話しながらワイワイ遊ぶというのはなかなかできない経験だったし、とても楽しかったです！
率直に言うととても楽しかったです。このようにゲームを通じて海外の人と交流するのは初めてだったので、すごく新鮮な気持ちになりました。また機会があればやりたいです！
During the session we mainly got to talk a lot with the students from Australia. We never had a meeting with each other before but we got to know each other pretty well by the end of the session. I personally really like interacting with new people and I think this session gave me the opportunity to speak with students from other countries and I had a lot of fun.
寝坊して遅刻してしまったけれど、久しぶりに海外の友達と喋ったり、ゲームができてとても楽しかったです。
互いにかなりマイクラに詳しかったので、お互いにやりたいことが同じだった感じでした。特に大変なことはありませんでしたが、やはり時差のことを考えなくてはいけないのは少し大変かなと思いました。普段使いたくてもあまり日常生活では使わない英語でワイワイ会話をしながら一緒にe-sportを遊ぶというのはとても楽しかったです
Actually the session that we did yesterday wasn’t fully supposed to go that way. Our original plan was to open the world that we made during the school festival and show what we made but we ran into the issue of the students at Australia using different versions of Minecraft (we made the world on a “Bedrock Edition” of Minecraft and they mainly had the “Java” edition of Minecraft which are two separate games coded with different coding languages). Only one of the students at Australia had the version that can access our world so we couldn’t invite all of them into it. So during that session we decided that since this is the first time we were going to talk we decided to have a bit of fun by playing a server called Hypixel and I think during that we got to know each other a lot. I think by the next session we can convert the original world that we made in “bedrock edition” into “Java” edition so I think next session will be more smoother.
当初予定していたものがうまくいかないことが判明した時、生徒たちはあきらめるのではなく、解決策を提案し、できることから始めました。最後には、今後について協議し、次回の計画を立てました。年明け、本校生徒がマインクラフトで作成した世界にご招待し、一緒に活動する予定です。
住んでいる場所、年齢、性別、など関係なく、広く楽しむことのできる世界です。このような交流が増えてくる予感がしています。
