You can't take over the world if you don't take care of it. Malta only has a small area so they must get innovative about how to deal with garbage. Today the Kogakuin Kangaroos visited Ecohive Academy - an entity dedicated to ensuring sustainability on the island. The students listened to a detailed lecture on how Malta collects and separates its trash, use compost energy for heat and electricity, and reform old landfills into public parks. Afterwards there was a quiz and games. S-san (a student) said, "Today we went to WasteServ and had a slide presentation about garbage and waste in Malta, followed by a quiz to deepen our understanding. What surprised me was that in Japan, food waste is burned and disposed of, but in Malta, food waste is used as fertilizer and recycled."
Another student, K-san, mentioned, "Today I went to Waste Serv. When I came by car, 5 employees were already welcoming me, and I thought they were very open-he erred employees. Also the inside of the company was very beautiful and kept clean, so I though it was good to come. I couldn't ask how the employees were working in the company, but in the presentation today I understood how the employees are working every day. Also, at the end of the presentation, I did a quiz using Forms. Unfortunately it ended with one more question, up the half of the course. After that I played some games. I only had about 10 minutes, so it was impossible to play everything. I thought I had to thank those who are working hard for the ecology of the Earth.
In the afternoon went back to the language school to improve their English skills. There were several activities that required detailed reading. You could hear the students' brains expand.
Afterwards the students had a chance to do laundry at a local university complex. For some students it was their first time alone with a washing machine. Many students realized how much their parents care for them.
Dinner was seafood risotto. I know you’re jealous. Overall it was another successful day with laughter, learning, and growth.
