The students had an incredibly busy day today. First up was getting packed and checking out of the hotel in Vientiane and heading to visit COPE - an organization that helps victims and families who have been affected by cluster bombs. We saw firsthand some of the shrapnel dug up all over Laos, and experts think it is less than 30% of what still remains
.

Then it was off to Xioban Yogurt factory where we met the owner, learned about the manufacturing process, and got to taste a few free samples.

After that we rushed to the train station to catch the train to Luang Prabang. We were relieved to arrive at a much cooler (both temperature and vibe-wise) mountainous area.

After checking into the hotel we did a walking tour and experienced the night market.

Then it was time for a nice dinner near the Mekong River and some re-election before heading to bed. The students are looking forward to a productive third day.
