今回も素敵なバースデーパーティーの様子をUさんが報告してくれました。
Hi Kogakuin Blog!!
It has now been about eight weeks since I arrived in Australia, and I honestly can’t believe how fast time has gone by. Every week here feels full of new experiences and memories.
At school, I’ve been getting to know more and more people, and I feel like I now recognize most of the people in my grade. Everyone has been really kind and welcoming to me. One of my friends even made a countdown for when I leave and has it on both her phone and her MacBook, which I thought was so sweet. Little things like that make me realize how special the friendships I’ve made here are.
Outside of school, I often go on beach walks with my host family. The scenery is always so beautiful, and it’s really relaxing to walk along the beach and talk together. It’s one of the things I really enjoy about living here.

Recently, I also went to the Adelaide Fringe with some of my friends. The atmosphere there was really lively with so many lights, rides, and people. We went on some rides and walked around together, which was really fun. Even though I didn’t get the chance to watch any shows, it was still a really cool experience.
Another highlight recently was my Sweet 16th birthday. On the previous day, I celebrated with some of my friends at the Moseley Beach Club in Glenelg. It was such a fun night by the beach, and I had a heart-shaped cake that looked really beautiful and aesthetic.

Beach birthdays have always been my dream, so it really felt like a dream come true.

When it turned midnight and it became my actual birthday, many of my friends sent me messages saying happy birthday, which made me really happy.
My actual birthday was the next day, so I brought a mud cake to school to celebrate with my friends. Throughout the day many people wished me a happy birthday, and during some of my classes people even sang happy birthday to me. I also learned that here the birthday song often ends with everyone saying “hip hip hooray,” which I thought was really fun. At night, my host family also made me a mango cake and we celebrated together one more time, which made the day even more special. I felt really grateful to have friends like this.
Next week I’m also really excited because I might go to my first AFL game. Since it’s such a popular sport in Australia, I think it would be really interesting to experience the atmosphere. I’m also going to an Ocean Alley concert, which I’m really looking forward to.
I feel really grateful for all the experiences I’ve had here and for all the people I’ve met along the way. Thinking about leaving already makes me a little sad because I know I will miss my friends here so much.
I came here as a stranger, but this beautiful chapter of my life feels like a scene from a movie I’d replay forever and I’m leaving with memories that feel like home.
