Hello! This is a blog from Switzerland! In this blog, I would like to talk about my experience so far in Switzerland and how amazing it is! I want to mention what I thought of Switzerland, the safeness and cleanliness, how beautiful the city is, and my experience with my host family!

First, I would like to tell you what I was most surprised about. I was so surprised by how expensive everything was to be honest. It might sound bad, but it’s not like that. I just want to mention how expensive it is in Switzerland compared to Japan. So, just to get you started, in Switzerland the money is called Swiss Franc (CHF), and 1 CHF is about 200 yen. One day I got a matcha from Café, which I think would cost only like 800 yen in Japan. But in Switzerland, I went to a Café, and one cold matcha latte cost me about 8.5 francs which is 1,900 yen. I was a bit surprised by how expensive it was. I mean I thought the matcha was good, so I don’t regret it, but I was just surprised by the price in Switzerland.

You might’ve thought ‘Oh maybe Switzerland is not a great place to go then,’ but that’s not true at all. In Switzerland most places are safe and clean compared to other European countries I’ve been to. I’ve realized that there’s not many pickpockets and I heard that you can most likely get back your lost item which you have left on the tram. (But I would recommend you to still be careful with your items though.) Also, it is very clean in Switzerland compared to many other countries. I do admit that it might not be as clean as in Japan, but still, it’s very clean and safe. I also love how beautiful the city is. I always loved the vibe and the fancy buildings in Europe and Switzerland also has the similar vibe but much safer and cleaner than others.

Thirdly, I love how green the city is in Switzerland. I’m used to living in the city and I prefer living in the city, but it’s also true that I can get a bit depressed living in a busy place surrounded by tall buildings, so I still like feeling some nature and Switzerland is perfect about it. There are many buildings and houses around the city and there’s also a lot of trams and buses to get you to many places, but there’s also many trees and you can also feel nature, even when you are in the city.

Lastly, I want to mention how great the time is with my host family. As I said before, I went to Café with my host sister and it was very fun! We studied as well, but we were also able to chat a lot about each other’s culture, and I had an incredible time! I enjoyed it a lot. Also, I went to the city a few times already with my host and it was super fun! I could see the city and walking along the lake with them was such a relaxing and pleasant part of my stay! I really enjoy talking with other family members as well. My host mother has lived in Japan when she was a student, so I also loved talking with her about it.
