Gleeson College からのブログはこちらが最後となります。たくさんの貴重な体験をしてきたTさんからの報告です。またいつか友達に会いに行きたいですね。

Hi everyone! Welcome to my second blog, and thanks for stopping by. I can't believe there's only a week left before I head back home, and time has really flown by. Attending a local school and studying here has been such a new experience for me, and it's made me think a lot about how school life in Japan is different from school life abroad.

If you're curious about what it's like to study abroad, I hope you enjoy reading about my experience. In Japan, politeness and respect for hierarchy are important, so sometimes there can feel like a bit of distance between students and teachers. However, overseas, teachers are much more approachable, and it's normal to chat or even joke around in class. Also, in Japan, students usually just listen quietly, but abroad, many students actively join in and answer questions, and if they don't, it can even affect their grade. One great thing about studying overseas is that it naturally helps you build the ability to speak up, share your opinions, and take initiative. Of course, there are challenges too, like language barriers or adjusting to cultural differences, so it's not always easy. What do you think about the differences between Japanese and overseas classes?

Personally, l've always been a shy person and haven't felt very comfortable speaking in front of others. However, if I want to study at a university abroad, I can't avoid facing this challenge. In Japan,
instead of holding back what I want to say or just going along with others, I want to be able to share my own opinions, even if only a little. That's one of the reasons I'm using this study abroad experience as an opportunity to speak up more and express myself, so I can gradually overcome my shyness and become more confident.

At school, a group of my friends invited me to sit with them in class, always chatted with me, and made me feel included even as an international student. I'm so glad I met such kind and open-minded people. It made me realize how close I've gotten to my friends here. At the end of my time, they threw me a going-away party, which meant so much to me. We spent the time talking, laughing, playing on the playground, and saying our goodbyes together. I got a message card signed by everyone and a lovely koala plush as gifts. The photos from the party will literally be some of my most precious memories. I'm so excited to go home, but leaving my friends will be tough.

This is my final blog from my time in Australia. I've had so many incredible experiences here, and l'll never forget my time here. I feel like I've grown a lot as a person through this experience, and I plan to carry everything I've learned with me as I get ready to head home.
