Round Square International Conference 2022が始まりました。高等学校1年生と2年生の生徒合わせて6名がラウンドスクエア国際会議出席のために、イギリス、オックスフォード大学に来ています。
ラウンドスクエアとは、1960年代にクルト・ハーン氏が創設した組織で、IDEALSの教育理念に共感する学校の国際的ネットワークです。IDEALSとは、Internationalism, Democracy, Environmentalism, Adventure, Leadership, Serviceの頭文字をとったものです。世界各国から200校以上の学校が加盟し、今回は1500人がオックスフォード大学に集まり、国際会議に出席します。国際会議前半はオックスフォード大学で、後半はロンドンにあるラウンドスクエア加盟校で開催されます。
英国に到着当日は、エリザベス女王の国葬がありました。特に混乱もなく、無事空港からオックスフォード大学に到着し、St.Anne’s Collegeに滞在しています。

After 13hrs of sitting in the flight, we finally arrived at Heathrow Airport! The signs for directions and the accents that has surrounded me were all very new, definitely gave me England vibes! Because this is my first time to ever step the earth of England, I was completely hyped by bunch of unfamiliar things, like payment and people. I can now ‘feel’ that I came to England for real, can’t wait to have fun!
After the arrival, we rode a bus heading to several colleges. Sadly we (Kogakuin) were the only one going to the Saint Anne’s College, but we had a good ride.
