This is my final blog about studying abroad in Australia.
I want to share with you the stuff that surprised me about my journey studying abroad.
At first in school, I thought maybe someone might come have a chat with me, but that didn’t happen, and no one did. So I guess I have to start approaching people/classmates myself. So, my friend told me there was this international girl student who likes Japan, so I went and had a chat with her. I still talk to her whenever we meet. Also, during lunch with another group of girls, they were chatting among themselves, like friends do back in Japan. When they were talking, they were changing their expressions and voice levels, and using a lot of gestures.

Next, English Mathematic and science has been such a great learning experience for me. learned the unique words for each topic, and I even got to try solving the problems.

At home, I was able to learn English expressions that local kids use. It was because there are little kids at home, and I got to eat lunch with local Year 10 students. I couldn’t talk a lot with them but it was really nice to get a feel for how local kids actually talk.

I also want to share some of my great memories from this experience! I went out every weekend. I went to birthday party four times and I discovered new things. That’s after singing the birthday song, people shout “hip hip hooray!”

I went to Australia football too. There were different from Japan. For example, before the game starts, they set off fireworks and shoot flames up into the air. They also shoot flames when a goal is scored. Fans watch the game while waving flags and cheering like festivals. In Japan, fans are quieter than that.

My host family usually makes me lunch and it was very tasty. I really appreciate the food, taking care of me when I was sick, and everything else. I also had a lot of fun with other host family.
I think my English has improved. I was able to learn English as spoken native speakers. I am very glad to study abroad for 3 months. It’s a beautiful adventure / experience.
