Today is my last school day. My time here has been very memorable and I am grateful to all my classmates and teachers for sharing their culture and giving me a new perspective on the world. Everyone has been extremely nice and welcoming, and I am happy to call them my friends. I hope to visit Japan again someday and maybe even learn how to speak Japanese. I have enjoyed learning about waves in physics, natural logs in maths, titrations in chemistry, Hamlet in English literature, what is considered art in philosophy and Japanese mythology in General paper. My favorite thing about Japan has been its amazing cuisine including sushi, ramen and yakiniku rice balls. I hope everyone works hard and finishes their final semester well and I thank everyone for everything once again.

Today's the first day Lucus isn't here with me, but yesterday we went to Sayama ski resort because everyone had exams. It was pretty fun. I then went to Yomiuri land which was pretty because of the illumination. The roller coaster was pretty fun as well. I'm writing this in the morning as we haven't had any classes yet. I think we do not have school next week so this is one of my last days. I want to thank everyone who made my trip possible, especially Kenta who's been an absolute lad and let me stay with him and his mum. I hope to come back to Japan someday and meet up with some of you guys.

ホームステイを受け入れた生徒の感想です。

When I signed up to be an exchange student host, I felt a mixture of excitement and nervousness. I was thrilled at the thought of welcoming someone from across the world, learning about their culture, and eventually forming a lasting friendship. At the same time, I felt nervous about meeting a new person from a different country and the responsibility of introducing them to my country. Despite these feelings, I knew this experience would be valuable for me in the future.

When I first met Oscar, I immediately noticed the cultural differences between us—how we spoke, how we looked, how we took care of things, and what we were accustomed to. Despite these differences, we quickly clicked, and the initial awkwardness faded. This made me even more eager to show him around Japan and introduce him to everything it has to offer.

During our time together, we visited Hiroshima and Kyoto. In Hiroshima, we saw the site of the atomic bomb drop, and in Kyoto, we checked out the famous torii gates. Along the way, we also indulged in delicious Japanese cuisine. As time passed, we grew to understand each other better—our habits, personalities, and ways of life.  It was great sharing these simple yet memorable experiences with Oscar. Before we knew it, four weeks had flown by. Overall, this was an incredible opportunity for both of us. I am forever grateful for Oscar’s company and wish him the best of luck in the future.
