今日はオーストラリアのパーティー、リゾット料理、いちご狩りについてNさんがレポートしてくれました!
What do you think about having a party three times a week? I thought it was unbelievable and exciting when I experienced it! My focus in this blog is about the party I attended and two activities that I enjoyed during the day in Australia.
The first thing is about the party I had the most fun. It was the party that was about my host family’s friend’s birthday. Since her friend was from Sri Lanka, we had a lot of spicy Sri Lankan food. Fortunately for me, I have a fondness for spicy food, so I ate them, but they were unexpectedly spicy! So, I enjoyed the food, but I couldn’t eat much of it. I found goat meat to be the most interesting and spicy food I had. I was intrigued by the taste of goat meat which I found tasty but because of the spice, I felt my stomach burning on the next day! I thought I should stop eating spicy things for a while. After eating we played UNO for 2 hours it takes this much time to end the game because the UNO we had played was not that easy. We had a lot of cards than the normal UNO! The other party I had was also fun talking to a person and learning about their cultural things that I didn’t know.

Second is about cooking risotto. As part of my food & hospitality class, I made a risotto. Stirring for about 20 minutes was a struggle for me because the rice was sticky, and adding a lot of cheese made it easy to burn them. It was supposed to be yellow, but it turned brown and appeared like curry. I think it became like this because I used a lot of heat while cooking the onion and butter. Although the appearance was poor, the taste was excellent!! Next time, we will make chocolate pudding, so I am looking forward to be good looking and tasting!

The third thing is that I had a excellent day spending time with a 4-year-old girl as we traveled to the strawberry farm and a park. During my time at the strawberry farm, I had a chance to pick strawberries! Because it was my first time, I was so absorbed in picking strawberries that I picked too many and couldn’t eat them all myself, so I gave most of my strawberries to a 4-year-old girl because she had a great smile while eating them and she was so adorable when she ate like a hamster. Me and the little girl went to the park to play a game of playhouse after picking strawberries. Playing was quite fun for me since it was my first time in a while. During our playtime in the playhouse, a girl came to join us. Because she was very energetic, they began playing tag game. I had run for a long time and I was exhausted at the end, but I had a great time playing game that I hadn’t played for a while.
I’m surprised that it has been already 6 weeks staying in Australia!! I feeling the time is passing very fast because of the fun having a great time staying in Australia. I’m planning to experience more on my rest of the days in Australia.
